Help A Hero

Standing Beside Our Texas DPS Family When They Need Us Most

Every day, the men and women of the Texas Department of Public Safety answer the call to protect others. Sometimes, they need someone to answer the call for them.

The DPS Troopers Foundation’s Help A Hero program provides an opportunity for Texans to support members of our DPS family who are facing serious injuries, medical emergencies, unexpected hardships, or the loss of a loved one. Every campaign represents a real family navigating one of life’s most difficult moments - and every donation reminds them they are not facing it alone.

100% of every donation goes directly to the designated family. All processing fees are covered up front by the donor, ensuring your full gift provides meaningful support when it is needed most.

Below are our current Help A Hero campaigns. Thank you for standing with those who have dedicated their lives to serving Texas.

The Impact of Help A Hero

Since its inception in 2021, the DPS Troopers Foundation’s Help A Hero program has become one of the organization’s most meaningful expressions of service to the Texas DPS family.

Through the generosity of supporters across Texas and beyond, Help A Hero has provided financial assistance to Troopers, Special Agents, Texas Rangers, civilian employees, and their families during some of life’s most challenging moments. Whether responding to catastrophic injuries, medical crises, natural disasters, or unexpected tragedies, the program exists for one purpose: to ensure that no member of our DPS family faces hardship alone.

To date, the Help A Hero program has launched 43 individual campaigns, raising more than $400,000 in direct support for those in need. Behind every campaign is a story of courage, resilience, and a community willing to stand beside those who have spent their careers standing for others.

Each campaign is unique. Together, they tell the story of a community that refuses to leave its own behind.
