DPSOA Member Professional Development Scholarship Program
Supporting the professional growth of our members.
DPSOA is proud to introduce the Member Professional Development Scholarship Program, offering up to 10 scholarships of $1,000 each to eligible DPSOA members pursuing higher education and professional development.
These scholarships support qualifying educational expenses in law enforcement, criminal justice, public safety, and other approved fields that advance members’ professional knowledge and skills.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be current DPSOA members in good standing.
- Have completed at least one year of service with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
- Be accepted to or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.

Complete the Application
Save the PDF to your computer and open it in a compatible PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Complete all fillable fields electronically. Handwritten applications will not be accepted.
Sign or electronically sign and date the application.
Include the following supporting documentation:
- Proof of acceptance or enrollment
- Documentation of tuition or program costs
- Current academic transcript
- Typed personal statement (300–500 words) addressing your educational and professional goals, career benefits, benefits to DPS and DPSOA membership, and how you will share the knowledge or skills gained

Important: All applications must be mailed.
Although the PDF can be completed electronically, applicants must print and mail the completed application and all required supporting documentation.

Completed applications and all required supporting documentation must be postmarked by November 20, 2026.
Scholarship Selection
Applications will be reviewed by the DPSOA Scholarship Committee. A maximum of 10 scholarships will be awarded during this application cycle.
Submission of an application does not guarantee a scholarship award. Selected recipients will be notified following final approval.
